Although I’m fairly certain underwear model Iskra Lawrence, face/body of the #aerieREAL campaign, isn’t capable of taking a bad picture, she recently proved in an Instagram post just how big of a difference certain poses and angles of the camera can make.
For the post, Iskra took a photo standing straight to make her thighs touch, and then took a separate photo where she leaned forward slightly and threw her hips back to create the appearance of a thigh gap. TBH, she looks just as bomb in the first photo as she does in the second, which proves Iskra is gorgeous always and that thigh gaps are not important.
In the caption, Iskra explains:
no thigh gap or thigh gap who cares. We all think we want different things and we should because we are all different, there’s no wrong way just be the healthiest & happiest for you. I’ll be the first one to tell you pics are all about good lightening and angles. Always remember social medias not real life never let anyone else’s pics make you feel insecure about yourself. If you don’t look like her and she doesn’t look like you that’s how it’s meant to be. You are meant to be YOU no one else, your body is your home so love and respect it. When you look after it beautiful things happens
This isn’t the first time Iskra has spoken out to encourage body positivity. She famously shared unretouched photos of her body on Instagram a few months ago to make a point that cellulite and stretch marks are not flaws.
Moral of both stories here is social media is a lie! Photos are not always real! Remember that next time you scroll through Instagram and start to feel bad about yourself. Because you are beautiful whether you have a thigh gap or not, girl.
